Time flies, the graduation bell rings again, and 2,638 graduates will set sail for a new journey in life.
On June 6, WZBC solemnly held the 2021 graduation ceremony and graduate farewell party in the gymnasium. Principal of WZBC and the chairman of the National Financial Development Laboratory, Li Yang, the screenwriter of “The Three Families in Wenzhou”, the first-level national screenwriter and the best screenwriter of the “Flying Award” Cheng Weidong, WZBC’s Executive Principal and Party Secretary Zhou Xiangzhe, and Academic Committee Director Xie Jian, Chief Financial Officer Li Xueru, and Vice Principal Tang Ruo attended the ceremony. The 2021 graduates, representatives of teachers and parents attended the ceremony as well. Vice Principal Li Yiming presided over the ceremony. It kicked off amidst the vigorous and majestic national anthem.
Principal Li Yang first expressed on behalf of the school his warm congratulations to the graduates who are leaving school and sincere gratitude to all the teachers, extended a warm welcome to the guests and parents of the graduates who were present. Principal Li Yang reviewed the graduates’ learning and outstanding achievements, and thanked the students for their dedication and contribution to the development of the college. He said that in the past four years, students have attended many excellent lectures made by academics in the college and world-renowned celebrities, discussed Wenzhou cultural genes and economic codes with international students from 10 countries and regions. A total of 141 3+1/3+2 students from the class of 2017 submitted 378 applications to 10 overseas cooperative colleges and universities, and none of them were rejected! The 2021 bachelors-masters elite class students have achieved a lot, winning 330 overseas master’s offers, with a master acceptance rate of 100%, and the QS top 300 acceptance rate is as high as 97%. WZBC won three consecutive championships in both China’s top private universities and the selection order of private universities in China in the Wu Shulian 2021 China Private University Ranking. “The Three Families in Wenzhou” came to WZBC for shooting. CCTV news channel “News Room” and “Morning News” featured and reported the practical education achievements of WZBC. China Education Television, the most authoritative education media in China, also focused on WZBC once again and broadcast a news feature film to praise the effectiveness of our school’s entrepreneurial education reform.
Principal Li Yang put forward four hopes to the graduates when saying goodbye: I hope you will not forget that you are the heirs of the Yongjia School, and the practitioners of the thought “Practice for practical use and uphold justice while pursuing interests”, and will always be an honest and trustworthy doer, builder, and pioneer; I hope you will keep in mind WZBC’s motto of “Be aspirational and advance with the times”, and take lifelong learning, self-cultivation, innovation and entrepreneurship as weapons to deal with all challenges, constantly improve yourselves in work and life, and strive to move forward; I hope you will always uphold the spirit of “Dare to start a business and innovate”, and contribute your life to the great journey of building the Chinese dream; I hope you will not forget the broad mind of the founder of WZBC ---Use industry to feed back education and run the college to serve the society, and try your best to serve the society with fruitful results and contribute to the society.
At the ceremony, Vice Principal Tang Ruo presented an honorary certificate to representatives of outstanding international graduates.
Xie Jian, director of the academic committee of WZBC, awarded honorary certificates to representatives of those who have been admitted to domestic graduate schools and outstanding entrepreneurial graduates.
Executive President and Party Secretary Zhou Xiangzhe awarded honorary certificates to outstanding provincial graduates.
Principal Li Yang awarded graduate representatives graduation certificates, blessing scrolls, and turned their tassels.
Years do not last, and the seasons flow like a stream. At the opening ceremony of 2017, the parents handed over the students to WZBC. At the graduation ceremony today, WZBC returned the outstanding students to the parents. Under the attention of the audience, the deans of the colleges held the hands of outstanding graduate representatives and handed them to the hands of the parents, realizing the handover of the “baton”.
On behalf of all graduates of the 2021, Zhu Chengcheng expressed her sincere gratitude to teachers, parents and classmates, and thanked WZBC for providing such a good learning environment and building such a solid platform for her growth and talent. She said that in Wenzhou, a hot spot for innovation and entrepreneurship, a number of high-quality compound business talents with international vision and modern business spirit have graduated from WZBC, who have received characteristic innovation and entrepreneurship education. Every graduate in WZBC has accumulated a lot of experience and wisdom in the past four years, and will always adhere to the school motto of “Be aspirational and advance with the times”, and will make full use of youth to build the future, and will always be with WZBC in a new role.
The father of Xie Muchen, a student from School of Management, reviewed their daughter’s growth in the past four years, and expressed gratitude to all the teachers on behalf of all the parents of the 2021 graduates. At the same time, he offered three pieces of advice to the graduates: April showers bring May flowers, so be grateful to the teachers’ teaching; learn endlessly and climb the peak bravely; dare to be the first and work hard.
The hero in the “The Three Families in Wenzhou” Zhang Lu sent a blessing video. In the video, he said since he had been to WZBC for shooting, his entrepreneurial experience in the play is also the epitome of many alumni’s entrepreneurial experiences. During the filming, he also personally felt the entrepreneurial genes of the teachers and students of WZBC “dare to make a business”. He hopes that the graduates of WZBC will inherit the Wenzhou spirit of “dare to be the first, dare to innovate and start a business”, take every step of life well, and eventually become the pillars of the country.
Cheng Weidong, the screenwriter of “The Three Families of Wenzhou” shared many interesting stories happened in the collection and creation of the TV series, as well as his understanding of the Wenzhou spirit. He said that when Ye Zifan, the protagonist of the TV series, left his father’s big business and ventured to make his own life, he thought that although he had a high degree of law, he still had to go to WZBC to attend economists’ lectures. Because WZBC is rooted in Wenzhou, a hot spot for entrepreneurship, taking entrepreneurship education as a school-running feature, it is the cradle for cultivating entrepreneurs in the new era. He said affectionately that in interviews with young people in Wenzhou, he was inspired and moved every moment by the pulse of Wenzhou young people’s desire for success. He encouraged WZBC graduates to work hard, inherit and carry forward the spirit of Wenzhou people in the new era, and feel the blood surging of the time.
The whole ceremony was divided into five chapters: Glory, Gratefulness, Inheritance, Farewell and Blessings. A series of programs such as flash mobs, recitations, singing and dancing, and chorus have been performed to send off all the graduates. After singing the “Wenzhou Business College Song” in unison, all the leaders watched the graduates leave.
May the graduates overcome obstacles, move forward courageously, break into a new world on the new journey, and remember to come back. WZBC has always been waiting for you!
