As Chinese Rabbit Year is around the corner, I would like to represent the Wenzhou Business College and all the faculty and students, to extend my sincere greetings and heartfelt thanks to staff in all positions for their hard work, to thriving students, to all parents and friends and the majority of alumni for their care and support for the development of the college from all walks of life!
In the past year, we have experienced the change of the world, history and the times, witnessed the prolonged downturn of the world's economy, the receding trend of globalization, and the turbulence of this world. It was also during this year that we experienced the victory of the 20th Party Congress, saw the blueprint of Chinese-style modernization being drawn up, felt the full implementation of the strategy of comprehensively building a strong socialist modernization country, and saw a brighter future for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. Time records the solid footsteps, years engraved with the footprints of struggle. We have not only experienced the baptism of epidemic and gone through the most difficult period, but also harvested the fruit of high-quality development.
This year, we adhere to the fundamental task of “moral education” , practicing the college philosophy of “optimal service to students”, carrying out distinctive “entrepreneurship education”, improving the quality of enrollment and admission work with the source of students came from 18 provinces. WZBC has been ranked first in China's first-class private universities and the choice of the national private universities in WuShuLian Chinese Private University Rankings for the fourth consecutive year . This year, in the provincial and even in the national universities, we took the lead in building the entrepreneurship education hall, Wenzhou “One Belt and One Road” Research Center, and settling Wenzhou's first College Students Employment and Entrepreneurship Tax Service Station. The finance class has been held for 18 years and has trained more than 100 students executives. Students won the first prize in three national entrepreneurship competitions. Mr. Ye Xiaopeng won the title of Master of Arts and Crafts of China. WZBC has also signed strategic cooperation agreements with a number of key enterprises, such as Qingshan Holding Group, and National University Science and Technology Park to open a new chapter of cooperation between schools and enterprises.
This year, we spare no effort to promote the construction of undergraduate teaching qualification assessment work, pay close attention to the construction of school discipline, teaching style and learning style, to help the high-quality development. North and South Campus implemented more than 70 quality project construction. A number of teaching laboratories and smart classrooms were built and put into use. The reconstruction project and the overall campus environment was drown as a new look, to create a good learning and working environment for teachers and students. This year, all teachers actively participate in continuous polishing classes and teaching competitions, in order to constantly improve the quality of teaching courses based on the real classroom. Staff carried forward the spirit of ownership, gave up the summer rest, seriously analyze in accordance with the indicators, find deficiencies, rectify and improve, and comprehensively strengthen the basic conditions of teaching management standards, teaching quality monitoring and guarantee system and other constructions. The overall level of schooling and talent training capacity has been greatly enhanced. Under the joint efforts of all teachers and students, the quality of our graduates has been steadily improving, recognized by employers, and the college's popularity and reputation have been rising.
This year, our love and gratitude education continued to deepen, and aroused a strong reaction in all walks of life. We are the first in the national universities to start the "inspirational alumni assistance action", praised by the Xinhua News Agency, Guangming Network, CCTV Network and other mainstream medias. We hired graduation season package train carriages , sent winter vacation postcards to alumni to commit to the “Alma Mater’s forever help!”, and offered the New Year's Eve invitation to alumni at home and abroad “cloud cooking tea” to help the students in difficulty with millions of red packets. There were more and more “member stars” of the Red Cross Society of China, among who was the provincial youngest donhematopoietic stem cell donor. “Yi Mi Yang Guang” was also recognized as the national volunteer service demonstration team. These lovely flashes lingered on us at all times, which has coalesced into a new spirit of WZBC and inspired us to move forward with courage.
Fellow teachers and students, “A thousand sails skim past the shipwreck, while a forest thrives beside the withered tree”. The new year will certainly bring us new hope and progress. We should make every effort to continue to immerse oneself in the evaluation and construction, always maintain the sense of responsibility, take responsibility in the heart, fulfill the responsibility in the line, and strive for a high standard of decency through the experts on-site inspection. We have to uphold the college motto “forging ahead and competing with the times”, and continue Wenzhou spirit of “dare to be the first, especially entrepreneurial”, work hard steadily, plant family and national sentiments deeply, and cultivate proactive character. “Commit it most difficult and seek it furthest”, We will work hard with full of expectations to build a benchmark private university of socialism with Chinese characteristics!
