On February 20, 2023, the annual meeting “China’s Science and Innovation” of China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) was held, at which the results of “Science and Innovation Index” were released. Among them, City’s Science and Innovation Index Research Report was completed by the research team led by Prof. Yang Pingyu of our college.
It is reported that the research result of “Science and Innovation Index” consists of two parts, which are City’s Science and Innovation Index Research Report and Science and Innovation Index Evaluation Indicator System Research Report. The latter was completed by the Torch Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology. In August, 2022, our research team’s project was approved, and the main task was to build a city science and innovation index with regional characteristics based on the experience of Wenzhou’s science and innovation development. After more than four months of hard work, the research team completed the City’s Science and Innovation Index Research Report with high quality, which was highly affirmed by the China Association for Science and Technology and Wenzhou Municipal Association for Science and Technology and other departments.
The report focuses on reflecting the law of science and technology innovation, implanting the characteristic genes of the Association for Science and Technology, summarizing Wenzhou’s experience in science and technology creation, and following the index design standard, combining with Wenzhou’s “Science and Technology Creation Index” financing model, constructing an evaluation system consisting of 36 indexes, summarizing Wenzhou's experience in innovation and development, and providing experiences for other pilot cities (parks).
In the next step, our research team will continue to track and analyze Wenzhou Science and Innovation Index, dynamically monitor the state and trend of Wenzhou’s innovation development, summarize Wenzhou's innovation development experience and practices in a timely manner, to further polish the brand action of “China’s Science and Innovation” and to enhance the whole society’s attention to and awareness of urban science and innovation.
The research project is declared by Wenzhou “Two Forms of Health” Research Institute team. Wenzhou “Two Forms of Health” Research Institute was jointly initiated by Wenzhou Business College and the United Front Work Department of Wenzhou Municipal Party Committee. It is based on the practice of private economic development in Wenzhou and facing the whole country, and conducts in-depth research on the new situations and problems encountered in the process of the development of private economy, and explores a new path on the “Two Forms of Health” of the private economy on both the theoretical level and the policy level.
