Recently, the SME Development Promotion Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced the list of the first batch of Industry Colleges For Specialization, Refinement, Characterization and Innovation to start construction. Our college is among them with the construction orientation of Industrial Big Data. It is reported that only 139 universities have been approved to be included in the first batch of construction nationwide.
This application lasted for six months and underwent multiple rounds of competitive selection, including preliminary review, online inspection, preliminary expert evaluation, and expert review. Finally, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology selected 141 construction orientations submitted by 139 colleges and universities including Harbin Institute of Technology from more than 800 applications nationwide, as the first batch of cultivating objects of provincial and ministerial level industry colleges for specialization, refinement,characterization and innovation, and started the construction as soon as possible according to the application scheme.
With the strong support from Wenzhou Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, the industry college for specialization, refinement, characterization and innovation in our college is jointly built by the School of Information Engineering in WZBC and Zhejiang Lunte Electromechanical Co., Ltd. (a national Little Giant enterprise for specialization, refinement and innovation), CASICloud-Tech Co., Ltd.(Wenzhou), Neusoft Education Technology Group Co., Ltd. and other units, adopting a “1+3+1” construction model.
“1+3+1” model includes one research institute, three centers, and one platform, which respectively refers to the establishment of a specialized, refined, characterized and innovative research institute for the integration between industry and education; the establishment of a specialized, refined, characterized and innovative education resource center for the integration between industry and education, a specialized, refined, characterized and innovative practice and training center for the integration between industry and education, and a specialized, refined, characterized and innovative cooperation center for the integration between industry and education; the establishment of a specialized, refined, characterized and innovative smart cloud platform for the integration between industry and education. Our industrial college combines the needs of economic development and the characteristics of industrial structure in the southern Zhejiang region, and explores an effective organizational and complementary collaborative education mechanisms among all parties. It is committed to jointly building a new type of industrial college specializing in the innovation-driven development of specialized, refined, characterized and innovative integration between industry and education enhanced by a new generation of information technology, which could integrate education, training, research and development, and service.
Our college has now equipped high-level internship and training venues for the specialized, refined, characterized and innovative industry college, including the provincial-level key construction experimental teaching demonstration center for Information Technology and Digital Economy, and the provincial-level key off-campus practical education base for undergraduate students of the CASICloud (the Industrial Internet Public Service Platform). In the future the college will focus on the construction of Industry College for Specialization, Refinement, Characterization and Innovation to improve industry-university research cooperation mechanism and resources building and sharing system, continuously deepen the structural reform of integration between industry and education as well as talent cultivation supply, promote the organic connection of the education chain, talent chain, industry chain, and innovation chain, and endeavour to cultivate high-quality, application-oriented personnel urgently needed in the industry.
In recent years, our college has solidly and effectively promoted the construction of the digital economy major. Among them, the computer science and technology major has become a first-class professional construction point in Zhejiang Province and a characteristic major in digital economy in universities in Wenzhou; The data science and Big data technology majors are fully connected with the digital industry, finance and securities, new media and other industries, and have cultivated a batch of talents for Big data analysis and Big data application development to better serve the development of digital economy related industries in Zhejiang. The School of Information Engineering there is owns a good team and work foundation for research, and has been approved for the construction of 9 provincial first-class courses and 1 provincial high-quality online open course in the past three years. In terms of teaching research, 3 provincial and ministerial level research projects and 3 departmental and bureau level projects have been approved, including 2 provincial programming education reform projects, 1 provincial curriculum ideological and political project, and 8 provincial and ministerial level collaborative education project for industry and education cooperation. As regards scientific research, 1 social science project from the Ministry of Education, 1 Zhejiang Natural Science Foundation project, and 6 department level projects have been approved.
