Pan Jiandan Won the First Prize of the Teaching Innovation Competition for College Teachers of Zhejiang Province

The final of The Third Teaching Innovation Competition for College Teachers of Zhejiang Province came to an end at Zhejiang University on April 8th, where 103 teachers (teams) from 45 universities in the province competed on stage, resulting in 18 special prizes, 26 first prizes, and 59 second prizes. Pan Jiandan, an associate professor of the Advanced Mathematics Teaching and Research Section of the Basic Education Department in WZBC, won the first prize of the Curriculum Ideological and Political Group.

The Third Teaching Innovation Competition for College Teachers of Zhejiang Province, with the theme of promoting teaching innovation and cultivating first-class talents, aims to focus on teaching innovation, enhance teachers’ ability to deeply integrate modern information technology with education, and improve the quality of talent cultivation, guided by the concept of “Four New construction”. The competition consists of six major groups: new engineering, new medicine, new agriculture, new humanities, basic courses, and ideological and political courses. A total of 269 teachers (teams) were recommended by universities to enter the provincial preliminary competition. Based on the online evaluation results of the preliminary competition, 103 outstanding teachers (teams) were selected to enter the on-site finals.

Ms. Pan Jiandan has carefully and continuously polished the teaching designs, contents, and methods since participating in the competition, which all contributed to her excellent performance on the stage. Previously, she has also guided students to participate in the 2022 Contemporary Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling and won the first prize.

Our school has attached great importance to assisting contestants in showcasing the concepts and achievements of the innovative education and teaching in all aspects. The Teacher Development Center organized special training courses as well as provided guidance for the participants several times. In addition, Professor Qian Chong from the Department of Finance and Trade also entered the final of the competition and won the second prize in the New Liberal Arts Group.
