On the morning of November 21, our college held the 2nd WZBC Wenzhou Entrepreneurs Forum. With the theme 'China's Private Economy and Wenzhou Business Going Global,' the event brought together over 300 experts and scholars from around the world. Distinguished guests included former Romanian Prime Minister Adrian N?stase and former British Business Secretary Vince Cable. Additionally, principals from private finance and economics colleges and universities joined us.
The forum focused on topics such as 'High-Level Opening Up to the Outside World, Supporting the Global Expansion of Private Enterprises' and 'Unleashing the Vitality of the Private Economy, High-Quality Collaboration in the Belt and Road Initiative.' The discussions aimed to propel the high-quality development of China's private economy and Wenzhou's private economy, while advancing the inheritance and innovation of the entrepreneurial spirit of enzhou entrepreneurs.
During the event, the research report titled 'Revival of Wenzhou Business under the Globalization Perspective' was officially released.
On behalf of the school's founder, Mr. Zhang Hanming, and the entire faculty and student body, Mr. Zhou Xiangzhe, the Secretary of the Party Committee, extends a warm welcome to our esteemed guests from both near and far. He provided an overview of the school's history, distinctive features, and achievements.
Our institution, rooted in business education, stands as the sole undergraduate business college in South Zhejiang, Fujian, North Gandong. Since its inception, the school has steadfastly embraced the philosophy of 'survival through quality and development through distinctiveness.' We consider the quality of talent development as our lifeblood, actively embodying the principle of 'optimal service to students' and striving to establish the brand identity of 'Learning Business at WZBC.'
Presently, the university has successfully passed the Ministry of Education's assessment for undergraduate teaching and has been recognized as a new master's degree construction unit in Zhejiang Province, marking the beginning of a new phase in high-quality development. The 2nd WZBC Wenzhou Entrepreneurs Forum aims to serve as a platform for global experts, scholars, and local educational leaders to converge, contributing their wisdom and efforts to Wenzhou's ongoing endeavor to forge new advantages in reform and opening up, achieve a renewed excellence in high-quality development, and script a more vibrant chapter in the journey towards 'Two Health'.
Shi Ling, Vice President of the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs, delivered a speech, noting that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the 'Belt and Road' initiative and the 20th anniversary of the implementation of the '8-8 Strategy.' She emphasized the timeliness of the current forum, which focuses on the discussion of 'China's private economy and Wenzhou businesses going global.'
In addressing the high-quality development of private enterprises in Wenzhou, Shi Ling proposed three key suggestions. Firstly, she emphasized the importance of adhering to openness to promote cooperation. Secondly, she highlighted the need to foster development through innovation. Lastly, she advocated for leading development with a focus on green initiatives. She expressed anticipation for Wenzhou to continue leveraging its local advantages and to take a leading position in high-level openness to the outside world.
Chen Yongguang, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Wenzhou Municipal People's Congress, expressed warm congratulations on behalf of the leadership of Wenzhou City for the successful organization of the forum. He stated, "After Wenzhou Business School held the inaugural Wenzhou Entrepreneurs Forum in April and established the Wenzhou Business Institute, the efficient continuation of various forums is truly commendable. We hope to consistently strengthen innovative research, harness the role of the think tank, and provide valuable theoretical and intellectual support for Wenzhou's high-quality development. We look forward to experts and scholars from both home and abroad offering insights with a global perspective and forward-thinking awareness, contributing advice for Wenzhou's economic and social development. May the spirit of the new era's Wenzhou entrepreneurs be integrated into the splendid practice of 'Millennium Business Port, Happy Wenzhou,' making a significant contribution to Wenzhou's pursuit of becoming a national demonstration zone for innovative development in the private economy and advancing the forefront of the 'Two Health' initiative.
During the special speech session, former Romanian Prime Minister Adrian N?stase pointed out that China, along with India, South Africa, and Russia, has now become a regional power and is beginning to influence global affairs. In the next decade, China may represent the primary focus and play a key role on the world stage, and he expressed the hope for increased business interactions with Romania. Regarding the topic of China's private economy and the global expansion of Wenzhou businessmen, he believes that addressing the pressing issue of how to effectively integrate the strength of private enterprises with the role of the state is crucial.
