Recently, the International Finals of 2023 BRICS Vocational Skills Competition for Fintech Application was closed in Shandong, and the team composed of Shi Shijun, Chen Xiner, Zhen Yidan and Zhu Shiyu, students from the School of Finance and Trade of the college, was awarded the second prize of the national competition. Previously, the team won the first prize and the first place in the total score of the regional selection competition in Zhejiang Province.
The event consists of three modules, namely "basic knowledge of fintech", "fintech business processing" and "comprehensive combat of fintech", and the contestants are required to complete the offline operation assessment by computer. The total score of the competition is the sum of the team members' scores. The competition selects relevant application scenarios and technical points in the field of financial technology, aiming to provide contestants with a meaningful, in-depth, all-round learning and practicing platform, and through in-depth analysis of industry cases, gain insights into the industry's development, promote multidisciplinary cross-fertilization, enhance the understanding of financial technology application, research ability and analytical ability, promote the reform of financial technology teaching in domestic universities and meet the demand for talents in the financial technology industry.
It is reported that the BRICS Vocational Skills Competition aims to build a platform for exchanges and cooperation among institutions and enterprises of BRICS countries, focusing on key areas such as advanced manufacturing, digital economy, new industries, new forms of business, new technologies, etc., enriching the content of exchanges and cooperation among institutions and enterprises of the five countries, and promoting the cultivation of internationalized and high-quality technical and skilled talents in BRICS countries as a whole.
This competition is the second time since the construction of the discipline of financial science and technology in our college, following the Blue Bridge Cup to win the national competition, but also a new breakthrough in our college in financial science and technology disciplinary competitions, Zhang Huizhe, Lin Qing, and An Lihua served as instructors.
The tournament was organized by the Department of Higher Education and Training of South Africa, the BRICS Business Council, and the Gauteng Provincial Government of South Africa, and hosted by the Skills Development Working Group of the BRICS Business Council and the Media ICT Department of the Department of Higher Education and Training of South Africa.
