The Second Wenzhou Business Forum, themed "Chinese Private Economy and Wenzhou Businesses Going Global," brought together more than 300 experts, scholars, and private financial and economic university presidents from around the world, including Adrian Nastase, former Prime Minister of Romania, Vince Cable, former British Secretary of State for Business, Dai Ruo Gu Bi, Director of the Australia-China Business Council and Australia Representative of the Silk Road International Chamber of Commerce, and Weng Shijie, former Deputy Speaker of the Malaysian House of Representatives and Chairman of the Asia-Pacific "Belt and Road" Cooperation Council. They gathered to promote the high-quality development of China's private economy and Wenzhou's private economy, advance the inheritance and innovation of the Wenzhou entrepreneurial spirit, and discuss the important roles and missions of private financial and economic universities in high-quality development.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the "Belt and Road" initiative and the 20th anniversary of the implementation of the "88 Strategy." The forum focused on topics such as "High-level Opening Up to Support Private Enterprises Going Global" and "Releasing the Vitality of Private Economy to Jointly Build the 'Belt and Road' with High Quality." It provided an international perspective to deeply analyze the future development path of China's private economy and Wenzhou businesses, making it timely.

The report mentioned the expectations of international figures, such as Adrian Nastase, on China's private economy. More than 10 experts and scholars from around the world, including Vince Cable, Dai Ruo Gu Bi, and Sijia Li, former Chief Representative of the German International Cooperation Agency in China, shared their insights on the future of Wenzhou's private economy and business community from a global and forward-looking perspective.

In the face of new circumstances, the report emphasized that Wenzhou's private enterprises need to transform traditional development approaches, practice green development concepts, and adhere to a sustainable development path of circular, green, and low-carbon development. It highlighted the importance of tracking new trends in world trade and technological development for Wenzhou's businesses going global and upgrading traditional industries.

The report called on the university to seize this forum as an opportunity to strengthen research on the entrepreneurial spirit of Wenzhou, mobilize the expertise of scholars, and continue to provide theoretical and intellectual support for the high-quality development of Wenzhou's economy and society.

The report also commended Professor Zhao Bo, the executive president of our university, for presenting the "Research Report on the Renaissance of Wenzhou Business from a Global Perspective" during the forum. The report reviewed the historical stages of Wenzhou's business development, analyzed the global industrial system of Wenzhou businesses, and outlined the opportunities and challenges facing the renaissance of Wenzhou businesses. It proposed eight recommendations to promote the revitalization of Wenzhou businesses, including building a global community of Wenzhou businesses' destiny, upgrading the value of the Wenzhou business network, and enhancing the value of the Wenzhou business industry chain.

From November 20th to 22nd, the First National Private Economic Financial and Economic University Presidents Forum was held at our university. Dozens of university presidents and representatives from private financial and economic universities nationwide gathered to focus on the high-quality development of private financial and economic universities. They engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as leveraging institutional advantages to create core competitiveness, promoting collaborative development between private financial and economic universities and regional private economies, integrating the "two health" of private economy and the fusion of business education talent training systems, and building a full chain of education, industry, research, and application mechanisms.

The report noted that the forum established the Council of the National Private Economic Financial and Economic University Presidents Forum, which is conducive to promoting in-depth cooperation among private financial and economic universities and addressing challenges. It aims to build a higher education collaborative innovation system that matches the development of high-quality financial and economic education. During the forum, Wang Lisheng, Vice President of the China Private Education Association, Li Hailong, Executive Deputy Secretary-General of the Financial and Economic Education Branch of the China Higher Education Society, Chen Yun, Dean of the Law and Business School of Hubei University of Economics, Chen Xinmin, Vice President of Zhejiang Shuren University, and Zhu Shengping, Vice President of Nanchang Institute of Technology, spoke successively, offering suggestions on how to deepen the cross-disciplinary integration of digital economy and traditional financial and economic majors, enhance the talent cultivation capabilities and quality of private financial and economic universities.

The report concluded that educational digitization has become an inevitable trend for the future development of education and an important strategy for building a high-quality education system. As essential components of China's higher education system, private financial and economic universities should actively contribute to the construction of a powerful education nation. They should do so by promoting high-quality talent cultivation systems, discipline construction systems, social service systems, and open systems. This will help answer the epochal questions of "What does it mean to build a powerful nation? What does digital transformation mean for financial and economic higher education?"
