This year marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between our country and Spain, a key partner in our country's "One Belt, One Road" initiative. Against this backdrop, our college has been proactively expanding collaborative exchanges with esteemed Spanish institutions of higher learning. On the morning of October 29th, Professor Juan Eguiluz Pacheco, the Representative Dean for International Affairs of the University of Salamanca, and his delegation visited our college. During this visit, we established a meaningful and friendly partnership. The ceremony was attended by representatives from the University of Salamanca, including Chinese representatives Mr. Ye Yuhong and Mr. Liu Qiaoming, as well as the Vice President of our college, Ms. Tang Ruo, the Dean of the School of International Studies, Mr. Cao Jiang, and other faculty and student representatives. The aim is to actively explore study abroad programs and cultural exchanges, with a particular emphasis on talent development. The goal is to enhance the quality of international education, establishing a framework for in-depth cooperation that leverages complementary strengths. This strategic partnership seeks to infuse a renewed vigor into our college’s endeavors in cultivating international talents.

During the negotiation meeting, Professor Juan Eguiluz Pacheco provided comprehensive answers to inquiries regarding the admission details for English-speaking candidates, the summer camp of the exchange program at the University of Salamanca, and the academic structure and tuition fees for postgraduate students. Both parties decided to leverage this intercollegiate collaboration as an opportunity to promptly initiate a series of substantive projects. With a focus on meeting student needs, they aim to continuously expand the chain of educational cooperation, cultivate a talent pool, and effectively enhance the international education reform and innovation capabilities of both institutions. This approach seeks to realize the diversification of the cooperation model and establish a sustainable framework for the outcomes of their collaboration.
During the ceremony, the University of Salamanca conferred upon our college the title of "Friendly Cooperative Partner," and our college presented a commemorative gift, serving as a symbolic gesture of the amicable collaboration between the two institutions. It is worth noting that the University of Salamanca boasts a remarkable history spanning over 800 years, making it the oldest university in Spain and one of the four most ancient institutions of higher learning globally. Renowned for its excellence in researching and teaching the Spanish language, the University of Salamanca shoulders the significant responsibility of educating and promoting the Spanish language.
