From October 28th to 29th, the final of the 15th Zhejiang Provincial Industrial Design Competition for College Students was held in Hangzhou. Notably, our students from the School of Media and Design Art achieved a remarkable feat by securing 15 provincial awards. This accomplishment represents a significant double breakthrough when compared to previous years, both in terms of the level and quantity of awards attained in this prestigious competition. The achievement underscores our institution's commitment to excellence in industrial design and showcases the outstanding capabilities of our students on a provincial platform.
The competition was segmented into the main track and the industrial track. The main track was themed as "Cultural Craftsmanship",, while the industrial track presented three specific themes: "Children's Toys," "Yiwu Small Commodities," and "Yongkang Hardware." In this intense competition, our students showcased exceptional innovation and design prowess. Notably, the collaborative effort of students Xie Lunan and Suo Xinyi, guided by Mr. Zhang Bowen, clinched the prestigious first prize at the provincial level. Additionally, works led by Hu Binyu, He Xinyu, Shi Jiaqi, Shen Haoyang, and others earned three second-place awards. Under the guidance of Mr. Sun Lun and Ms. Song Danfeng, the works of students Wang Nan, Zhang Jialu, Shen Minpeng, Yao Jingru, and their peers secured an impressive 11 provincial-level third-place awards.
The organization and promotion of this competition were a collaborative effort between the Department of Academic Affairs and the School of Communication Arts. This Class A Industrial Design Competition served as a catalyst for educational advancement, integrating professional practice with disciplinary competitions. By participating in this event, we aim to enhance the quality of talent cultivation at our university.
Zhejiang Provincial Industrial Design Competition for College Students, under the joint guidance of the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education and the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Economy and Information Technology, is a specialized event organized by the Zhejiang University Students' Science and Technology Competition Committee. The competition is geared towards addressing societal needs, harnessing disciplinary strengths, pushing the boundaries of creativity, improving industrial structures, and cultivating innovative talents. It has been successfully held for fourteen times so far.
