In pursuit of excellence and personal growth, and keeping pace with the times, the opening ceremony for military training and the national defense education mobilization conference for the Class of 2024 was held on the morning of September 20th at Dehan Playground. Over 6,800 freshmen will participate in an 11-day military training program.
Executive Principal Zhao Bo delivered an encouraging speech and presented the flag. Attendees included Wu Jianqiang, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Wenzhou Armed Police Force; Zhang Yongliang, Staff Officer of the Wenzhou Military Sub-district's Combat Readiness Construction Office; Gao Min, Director of the People's Armed Forces Department of Chashan Town, Ouhai District; Vice President Bai Yan; Assistant to the President Hu Jiang; and heads of various colleges and departments, with Assistant to the President Xie Shimin serving as the host of the ceremony.
The military training kickoff ceremony commenced with the solemn raising of the national flag and the singing of the national anthem. The spirited young students, ready for action under the blazing sun, displayed their enthusiasm and determination as they embarked on their military training journey at Wenzhou Business College.
Zhao Bo urged all instructors and students to strengthen their awareness of safety, place high importance on military training, ensure organizational support, and serve with dedication. He emphasized the importance of resilience and determination to complete the training, instilling a sense of patriotism, combat spirit, and responsibility, in order to contribute to the youthful chapter of national development.
Bai Yan announced the “Order to Form the Military Training Corps.” To effectively carry out the military training for the Class of 2024, our university has established the 2024 Military Training Corps, appointing a commander, deputy commander, and political commissar, organized into six battalions comprising a total of 58 companies.
Zhang Guangcai, Deputy Commander of the Military Training Corps, made a statement pledging that all instructors and students would uphold strict organizational discipline and a strong fighting spirit, ensuring scientific, civil, and safe training practices.
Chen Xin, representing all participating freshmen, took the stage to pledge: “We will follow all commands, uphold the motto ‘Forge Ahead with Determination, Compete with the Times,’ and accept training with high standards and strict requirements, striving to achieve outstanding results in this ‘First Lesson of College.’”
t the opening ceremony, 141 instructors made a collective appearance, all from our university’s National Defense Youth Vanguard Camp, formed by veteran students. Under the leadership of Chief Instructor Li Wanjian, the instructors stood in precise formation, earning enthusiastic applause.
With flags waving and promises resonating, students will enter the training grounds filled with burning passion, showcasing the strength of youth through hard work and determination.
