On 28 August, the final of the 5th China University Intelligent Robot Creativity Competition came to an end at the experimental base of Zhejiang University Robotics Research Institute. Pang Jingtao, Lin Weiqiang and Qian Jiajun from School of Information Engineering of our university won the first prize of the national competition for their work “Tea Mountain Shadowless Hand” under the guidance of Professor Kuang Fangjun and professor Zhang Siyang.
The work is to design and make a robot to solve the Rubik’s Cube within 6.12 seconds, which is faster and more flexible than human, with mechanical, electronic, computer, image recognition and other technologies.
After the release of rules of this competition, School of Information Engineering attached great importance to it and organized it meticulously, including creative conception, model design, work introduction, demonstration video, publication authorization, PowerPoint production. Teachers and students work together to repeatedly modify and carefully polish, and constantly improve robot's speed and stability of the mechanical structure.
In recent years, School of Information Engineering takes the core of enhancing the construction of the connotation, focuses on the curriculum construction, and attaches great importance to discipline competition. In this way, teachers will continuously improve the level of teaching, and cultivate capable, innovative and cooperative talents.
