What’s your dream on the way of pursuing study? We shall do our best to help you fulfill your dreams. In late September, our school collaborated with Wenzhou Evening News to launch the “Campaign of Assisting Aspiring Students to Fulfill Dreams”, searching for those aspiring students in need of assistance and pairing them to help build a students aid brand full of warmth.

The “Dream Fulfillment” campaign originated from a student aid activity 17 years ago. In 2005, the City College of Wenzhou University, the predecessor of our school, and the Wenzhou Evening News jointly carried out a series of student assistance activities of Searching for Children in the Mountains, which enabled 100 students who were in adversity but committed to academic study to successfully realize their dream of learning. Since 2006, our college has got involved in the “Love Train” activities, continuously carrying out social welfare affairs such as teaching and learning assistance, poverty alleviation, care for the elderly and children, and environmental protection. So far more than 80000 college students have been engaged in more than 3700 volunteer activities, better cultivating their sense of public welfare and social responsibility.

Not long ago, Wenzhou Evening News published a report titled “The Wenzhou Girl Was Keen on Playing Basketball and Pursued Further Dreams after Her Recruitment by Tsinghua for Special Talents”, focusing on a 19-year-old girl Li Yujing who was admitted to Tsinghua University due to her outstanding performance in basketball. Now, the girl was eager to join the Chinese University Basketball Association and the Women’s Chinese Basketball Association to prove her ability to be be recruited by the national team in her own right in the future. However she needed to hire a high-level training team and logistics support team to help fulfill her dream, which would cost much more than her less well-off family can afford.

This report aroused the attention of Mr. Zhang Hanming, the founder of our school, who was impressed by the love relay 17 years ago. After collective discussion, the school leadership decided to take the opportunity of helping Li Yujing achieve her dream to restart the collaboration with the media to carry out the “Campaign of Assisting Aspiring Students to Fulfill Dreams”.

It was reported that this Campaign would gather more folk charity forces in Wenzhou, help more inspiring students to fulfill their dreams, and further spread the humanity warmth of Wenzhou city. For the time being, some enterprises in Wenzhou have shared their willingness to join this ranks.

“Born in a poor family, I have much feeling for that,”said Zheng Changshen, the general manager of Yunyun Medical Beauty. He was willing to do his best to help children who were talented in learning despite all the financial difficulties. Ye Li, the Chairman of Wenzhou Salami Food Co., Ltd., stated that he would try his best to provide the assistance and support as much as possible such as paying tuition fees for students.

Pan Songhua, vice president of Wenzhou Red Cross Society, said despite the current fruitful poverty alleviation work, we should continue to make more targeted efforts for students who were good in academic performance but poor in family condition and thus still in need of social help.

At present, our college is soliciting relevant clues from various sectors of society for inspirational and capable students in need of assistant. Meanwhile, we shall welcome and appreciate warm-hearted individuals to join our “Campaign of Assisting Aspiring Students to Fulfill Dreams”, and do our best to help them and contribute to good deeds.
