In order to further introduce overseas high-quality educational resources, teaching concepts and methods, the School of International Studies in our college held an online meeting with the University of Essex on the afternoon of October 27, exploring and discussing the deepening cooperation and exchange between the two universities. Our Vice Principal Tang Ruo, Assistant Principal and Dean of the School of International Studies Lv Wenwei, Assistant Dean of the School of International Studies Li Xiaotao, and relevant teachers from the International Student Office attended the meeting. The meeting was hosted by Barbara, a teacher from the University of Essex.
At the meeting, Prof.Annecy Lax, Vice President of the University of Essex, introduced the disciplinary advantages and prospects for future development. Mrs. Tang Ruo gave a brief introduction on the characteristics of international education and the prospering development trend of overseas study programs of our college. Mr. Lv Wenwei presented the development process of WZBC and the achievements of cooperation and exchange between the two universities in recent years with vivid illustrations. Both sides expressed a positive attitude towards further cooperation and exchange.
During the meeting, Mrs. Tang Ruo proposed that the University of Essex should give full play to the advantages of linguistics and other disciplines by taking various ways to further strengthen the communication between teachers and students of the two universities, promote the students’ comprehensive ability, and enhance the cooperation in teacher development, scientific research exchange and etc. The University of Essex showed their appreciation on our points and achievements. After all discussions, the two universities reached a preliminary consensus on the cooperation of inter-university exchanges and complementary advantages.
