In order to promote the participation in the service of helping the elderly and children, and the construction of age-friendly City and child friendly city, the Wenzhou Red Cross Charity Association for the Elderly and Children held an awarding ceremony for the donation on October 20. Mr. Zhang Hanming, the founder of WZBC, donated 5 million yuan as a financial aid for students. Zhang Yueying, the Vice Mayor of Wenzhou City Government and President of Wenzhou Red Cross Society, presented the certificate of honor.

It is revealed that over the years, Mr. Zhang Hanming has been enthusiastic about charitable and public welfare undertakings. In 2015, he donated 100 million yuan to establish the “Zhang Hanming Charity and Public Welfare Fund”. While working hard for the development and growth of his enterprises, Mr. Zhang never forgot to repay society and has been recognized and awarded many honors such as the “Zhejiang Charity Award”, “Zhejiang Good People”, and “Green Leaf Award”.

Under the influence and impetus of the founder, our college has always attached great importance to the education of love and care among college students. Since the establishment of the “Love Train” in 2005, the education of love and care has been carried forward for 17 years, and was praised by the media as the “fresh and vivid textbook material for cultivating morality and educating people”. In the second half of this year, based on charitable and public welfare funds, we launched the “Campaign of Assisting Aspiring Students to Fulfill Dreams”. We searched for those inspirational students in difficulties and in need of paired assistance, made visits to them subsequently and provided necessary assistance in a more effective and efficient manner as the “Paired Assistance Action for Motivational Students ” projects came to start, thus to help build a students aid brand full of warmth.

After learning about the establishment of the Wenzhou Red Cross Charity Association for the Elderly and Children, the founder of WZBC decided to further enhance the “Campaign of Assisting Aspiring Students to Fulfill Dreams” and expand the coverage, so as to provide more help to those inspirational students in need of assistance. Therefore, Mr. Zhang Hanming decided to make that generous donation.

Yu Shaobang, Secretary of the Party Group and Executive Vice President of the Wenzhou Red Cross Society, said that he was very grateful to entrepreneurs and caring individuals for their generous donations and charitable services, contributing to the promotion of people’s livelihood and the noble spirit of the Red Cross, which is commendable and admirable. It did not only prove to be a strong support for the public welfare of the Red Cross in Wenzhou, but also an effective action to promote the construction of a friendly society for the elderly, young people and children, and build a model city for common prosperity in a way of high-quality development.
